Pilanesburg Game Reserve

A beautiful game drive to and through Pilanesberg Game Reserve which is just 2 hours from Johannesburg in one of the country's most popular wildlife areas.

The park is home to lion, leopard, black and white rhino, elephant and buffalo ~  Africa’s “Big Five”,  as well as giraffe, zebra, hippo, crocodile, and many other species.

The Malaria-free Pilanesberg is in the Bojanala Region of South Africa's North West Province.

Perfect for those on short business visits to South Africa's economic hub, Johannesburg. The Pilanesburg offers the ideal opportunity to view the Big 5 when time is lacking to visit  the larger game reserves such as the Kruger National Park, which is much further away.

One of eight World Heritage Sites in South Africa, and the only one in Gauteng,  it is renowned as the place where humankind originated. It is here that the first hominid, Australopithecus, was found in 1924 at Taung and is one of the major tourist attractions in South Africa.

Maropeng is a world-class exhibition centre that focuses on the development of humans and our ancestors over the past few million years. On arrival, visitors are met by what appears to be a massive burial mound, the entry point into the secrets of humankind’s beginnings.
